pbFavoritesBookmarks on any model

A product, a freight request, an article, a company, a person. Guests bookmark too. Three snippets for the templater, a service and a provider contract for the developer. Free.

Quick start

For developers

What is it

Any model, not just a product

The model is named in the call. One site bookmarks products, articles and requests alike — and the visitor sees a single list that holds all of them.

Guests bookmark without signing up

"Please log in first" on a button is a refusal on click. A guest is identified by a cookie token; on login the list moves onto the account and duplicates are dropped.

An allow-list of models

The model key arrives from the browser, so a model must be registered together with its provider. An unknown key is a refusal, not a new table row.

The provider answers three questions

What counts as visible, how to render a row, what the URL is. A product answers one way, a freight request another, and the component guesses neither.

One query per page

The list is warmed in a single query instead of twenty; the "how many people saved this" counter works the same way. A catalogue page holds two dozen buttons, and it shows.

Lands on a live table

The migration creates the table or grows the one already there. If the site had favourites before, the package joins it by adding columns rather than rewriting data.
